Customers that bring shipments into the U.S. and who are the Importer of Record will be billed directly by DHL Customs Brokerage whenever DHL is acting as the customs broker on behalf of the Importer, as mandated by U.S. Customs Regulations CFR 19. This billing is for U.S. Customs Duty only and has nothing to do with the DHL Express transportation-related charges that are billed by Preferred Shipping for the shipments involved.

DHL MyBill is DHL’s online billing portal used for the billing of DHL Brokerage U.S. Customs Duty Invoices.

Customers receive their U.S. Customs Duty Invoices via MyBill and can manage and pay these invoices online through the MyBill portal.

Customers can view and download all U.S. Customs entry documents associated with U.S. import shipments and may also submit post entry amendments for consideration and adjustment with U.S. Customs when necessary.

MyBill Registration

The MyBill registration process begins when Preferred Shipping requests the setup of a DHL Express Import Express account number for our customer to use in shipping their imports.

As part of the Import Express account setup process DHL will automatically register the billing contact person for MyBill online access.

The billing contact person will receive an email (as shown in the example) which will provide a link for them to create their MyBill password. The link is active for 48 hours.

Follow the on-screen instructions to create your password. Your username will be your email address.

Log Into MyBill

Once your password is created you can log into the MyBill system using the login screen found at: https://mybill.dhl.com/login/ . Note that you may need to select the United States in the country dropdown the first time you log in.

MyBill Dashboard

The MyBill Dashboard will be the first view you see after login. The Dashboard gives you a quick overview of the status of your Duty Invoices. It provides open invoices, those you may have disputed and those currently due. On each invoice line item, you can go into all the detail including viewing or downloading the invoice itself, the entry documents filed with U.S. Customs and the shipment paperwork.

From the invoice line item, you can Dispute and invoice or Make Payments.

The My Account Settings area provide key settings to be aware of. You can change your password if needed and to pay your invoices through MyBill you must go through the steps in Payment Settings. From within Payment Settings, you can create your wallet with a payment method and select if you want to turn on automatic payments.

Duty Invoice Alerting & User Management

From the User Management screen there are key things to be aware of. From here you can add a user by clicking on the Add new user button and providing their name, role and email address. You can also set the user’s access permissions. Duty Invoice Alerting is an important setting to consider. It allows you to receive an email from MyBill immediately when a new duty invoices is posted to your account. The alert email can be set with a delivery preference that includes a PDF copy of the duty invoice or other type format. This feature is very helpful to ensure the duty invoices are paid on time.
